I like the way the cans of Red Bull fit in the drivers slot/glove box!

Might be a good idea when driving to work with a hangover!

Good choice in colour, just the same as mine

I wouldn't mind an Aygo but it's just got no power! :(

what do you mean mate by no power? is it that if you change from your yaris you would get a bigger performance car ? cos if thats not the case the aygo has enough punch in it for that tiny engine! its the way that you drive it then! I know that from the sound of the engine and from inside it give you the impression of a slug but when i meet cars on the lights it impresses me on what cars this little toy could keep back!:thumbsup:

Ryan 1985 your Yaris has less power as standard than a Aygo! Which is interesting!!

I was under the impression they both have 67bhp?

Oh they go quick enough, some independant suspension at the back would be nice though, for a bit more finesse, but it's still fun.

My mum has a 1L Yaris and she always says how my Aygo feels faster to drive - I'm sure its the weight - an Aygo is lighter than a Lotus Elise from what I've heard

Guess it depends on how many pies you eat. :!Removed!:

Has it? Prove it? ;)

And I can almost guarantee the Aygo will be slower than my Yaris, remember you have all lost a cylinder somewhere along the line!

I can also go round corners pretty quickly with my HKS coilovers! :P

aygo vvti, I'm looking at getting maybe a Yaris T-Sport or a Honda Civic of some description!

yes it depend how you drive it! if you rev it to 4,500rpm and change gear you will surely feel it slow! but if you push it to the limiter you will see how quick the Aygo is! :P

its true it lost a cylinder but its thesame CC and it revs quicker than a 4cyl  and around corners we have to see that as the aygo can go round corners at quite some speed! (depends on the b*lls of the one driving the car mate) :D

remember the car is very light and the cylinders are of equivilent 1.2 cylinders on a 4 cylinder car. and it really is nippy and i havent even pushed mine yet as its still running in. very annoying

I understand where your coming from with the weight difference, but IIRC they both have 67bhp and the gearing on the Aygo isnt going to help matters for acceleration, i've read on other forums that @ 6,500rpm in 3rd it'll be doing 90mph!

well.. as this is my first post in the forum (at least, the first "stable" post .. SMW, you know what I mean.. hehe) I'll try to introduce myself by just saying... hi! ehehe..

Well, i noticed the "discussion" and couldn't help to get myself on the "fight". As for technical issues, comparing the OLD 4cl 1.0 VVT-i yaris engine to the AYGO one (yes, the old yaris, because the new yaris has the same 3 cylinder based engine developed for the aygo) you can say that they are 2 different engines... as they are! The AYGO engine, being a 3cl deploys faster revs, has more horsepower (actually the same in this case) but can produce more torque and have better response... for less fuel! On the other hand, the 4cl should be more durable (not much today.. technology is evolving to take care of this.. and we like that!) and can deploy more max speed. You can say that in the first hand, the aygo is quicker, not only for the engine itself, but for the weight, more like a mini-racer, but once the aygo reaches max speed, the yaris could run a litle miles or kilometers faster (Km since I am from Portugal..), and be more stable at high speed. They both are different cars, and have different motors.. we just have to like them their way... differently! :)

My 3 cyl Toyota engine is sitting on H&R sport springs so is no slouch in the corners either.

As for the staight line speed and acceleration the only proof can be gained on a drag strip! I think anybody watching this contest would be laughing their socks off! Not sure if the cars could post a 1/4 mile time as it gets timed out over 20secs!

Hehe however yours must be faster than the rest of ours due to all your seat removals. Is your pug your day to day car or for a bit of fun or a runaround? Also have you just left it with the metal showing or have your carpeted over it? Few piccies would be nice if possible.
