I can either get an MR2 turbo or the EVO7, what would you rather have?

Posted

Stupid question in a MR2 forum!

Anyway, I'd rather have an Evo 7 if I could afford to run it and service it etc etc!

Defo go for a EVO7 Better Handling and Better performance, it all drops down to if you can afford to service/run it, but as summers approching i would go for an MR2 Turbo-TBar and get an Evo 7 For winter as it would handle better in winter, But the Choice is yours

If you can afford an Evo 7... what on earth you want an old MR2 for? :s

Honda NSX.... need i say more?

Posted

I would agree Evo 7 if you can afford it you might aswell ;)

Posted

evo 7 mate but if that involves getting out a loan then don't bother... go with something you can easily run and afford in the end without pushing yourself :)

Posted

Evo7 too .. but only if I could change it to look like something less "saloon" like.

Really not a fan of whe whole 4 door thing ..

Posted

yeah, thats an odd comparison...

even a very late MR2 turbo wont run into the price range of an Evo 7, a 5 or 6 maybe, but 7's are still above the 10k mark...

and i wouldnt touch one below it, it'll be expensive (more than usual) to keep on the road if its going that cheap..

Bear in mind an evo needs a service every 4500 miles and is 400 quid a pop...

Not really appropriate but you wont see above 20MPG

The interior is as luxurious as a wheelie bin

but these are the reasons i didnt buy one - if you can afford it and want one, why not...

the MR2 tubby wont give you more than 20mpg Ian..

£250 a month for 3 years, yes i know the service woes.

i dont think i will be able to afford it but its a good way to get my money back on the yaris, part ex for 8k.

i will probably sell the evo a few months after if i dont like it, or even days. im not too keen on the whole 4 door 4 wheel drive thing.

i been looking at MR2s for the past 10 months and its all i wanted. but this evo has done 6k miles and its just too good a chance to miss.

lol anyone want an evo 7? white? hahahaha.

anyway, any normal person would be on cloud 9 if they knew they could have it by as soon as sunday. but im just not excited at all.............

forget the Evo .. buy my tubby ..

forget the Evo .. buy my tubby ..

sale fell through then... ?

im not getting the stupid evo anymore, i am getting an underpowered car to beat the stupid 4wd idiots, not to become the idiot, i proved worthy in my yaris, beating anything i come accross on the b roads, im not going to get something everyone thinks is invincible.

scoobies, evos, GTRs they dont interest me.

you lot probably think im stupid for turning the offer down, but i know what i want and im sticking to it

lol, in my garage i currently have the best of all worlds

rev3 tbar turbo

rx7 tt

impreze type r

they are all great cars and have their pro's and cons. for me the rev3 is the most fun to drive, the rx gets the most attention and the scooby gives the best balance of everything.

if i was looking for only one, i would opt for the mr2 turbo or possibly the type r impreza

my boss offered me his MR Evo 8 for a reduced price, at first i thought hell yeah EVO here i come......

but after going through the maths i found that the services (which it needs alot of) and the mpg makes it just as bad as owning a REX.

dont get me wrong the evo is a great car, it's just pure grin factor when your eating up the country roads. B)

(although the turbo is very laggy)

also the evo 7 was the version when they changed the design but made it too "taxi" looking!! imho

There's nothing wrong with owning a rex!

(apart from the 10mpg thingy)

sean looked at the halfrauds one too, but decided it was to cheap and nasty so he splashed his cash on a GT wing
