Hence why I dont use it.... I reply on maps and my good old sense of direction....

Which is why I probably end up in Glasgow on my way to London... but hey ho!

My Tom Tom has lead me off the beaten path a few times.

I think the main problem why people end up on old dust tracks is that green lanes are classed as roads as you need to have your vehicle road legal to go green laneing, and the majority of the maps for the GPS sat nav systems have these green lanes on them so when a sat nav is as to find a route from A to B if there is a green lane and its the fastest / shortest route it will chose it.

tom tom 3 once took me down a green lane that half way through stops dead as there is a river, but tom tom thought there was a bridge, obvoiusly not and thankfully i was going nice and steady cos i didnt see it until i was a frew metres away! (pitched black)
