Ae111 20 Valve

heya guys. is there anyone on here or anywhere else that has converted there AE111 to a 20 valve. either a silver or a blacktop? going to be getting one soon for mine. just trying to get information at the mo.

and also can anyone help me with rear levin disc brakes. as the standard ones are drums! thanks guys!

What do you need to know? They are 255 mil and it is a very easy swap over from the drums at the back.

do fensport do any? iv looked on the site a few times but it doesn't say that they do any.

They do sell them ,well they did when I did my conversion but I know it takes them ages to get hold of a set

oh rite cool. il just get the engine first and then sort the brakes out when iv got it. i found a site in canada that sells 20 valve blacktops for rly cheap price with all the bits. and with shipping its come to around 870 quid! which is cool!

870 is very cheap is that a 5 speed or a 6 speed?

thats with a 5 speed! im not too sure weather it comes with an ECU or not. but its not a big problem if it doesn't. me and my m8 are gona fit it. he's a fully qualified machanic! so shud be gud im rly luking forward to it! also gona add a levin bonnet scoop where yours was so the throttle bodies get as much air as poss!

You can get the scoop from fensport think it is about £50, and it's looked very very good. There was an eage 20v ecu on eBay a couple of weeks ago so keep an eye out for another.

thats cool! so they shudn't be hard to pick up if i dn't get one with the engine. this is my dads car. im paying for the engine as far as i know. but the car will eventually be mine probs about this time next yr! so it shud be gud im rly luking forward to it.whats the difference feel like from the standard 4AFE engine so sumit that pumps out 170bhp?

4afe is pants the 4age & 4age 20v are propper engines the 20v you have to rev the balls off and thats a laugh, but I still reckon the 4agze is better. Also both engines are much better with a turbo on :D

im liking it! i like the 4AGZE but its a heavy engine. and i havn't got thousands to spend you c! the 20 valve blacktop will keep me happi for a while!! the 4AFE is abit nippy tho for what it is. but nothing on the 20 valve!

I think the 20v is a cheaper option the 4agze will just cost you loads to sort out.

I did see a 140bhp 4age on eBay this week nice spec and would be good to see in an ae111 well before an ae86/mk1 mr2 owner grabs it

i wouldn't bother with a 16 valve. i dn't c there being much point. go 20 valve.. in the future i wouldn't mind charging it to be honest. that would be a project

20v complete with Blitz Turbo kit. But at £6,000 the kit is NOT cheap And it not mine either

unfortunately i dont think you can get these kits very easily anymore. i tryed to get a turbo kit for my e10 corolla gxi but they discontinued the kit for the 7a-fe :(

just so you know that isnt a 4a-gze engine in that picture. that is a standard 4a-ge engine with a turbo attached. the 4a-gze cam with a supercharger. the turbos can be had from fensport or trd. and the 4a-gze engine only cane in the pre 95 cars. (levins that is)

Yes it came from Fensport. It's not the one in the picture - that's a 20v with Blitz turbo kit and has been rebuilt with forged pistons and ARP bolts.
