Temperature Display

I was out of country for two weeks and had to park my Avensis in an open car park during the time. On return I found that the temperature display is showing incorrect display. On a bright sunny day when outside temp was 10 degrees, it is showing -12 degress. :( Any ideas as to what the reason could be and resolution for it.

thanks in advance.

Temperature sensors are often located in the passenger wing mirror these days. Perhaps its had a knock while you were away from the car. The get fragile over time and suffer from water ingress so you probably need a replacement. You will probably find the Air Con doesn't work anymore :-(

This happened to me on the day I was selling my Ibiza. I went to Halfords to buy a new Battery just to be fair to the buyer. While I was paying for it I saw a car hit my mirror and not stop. When I drove home the air wouldn't work so I had a tough time explaining to the buyer why the air wasn't working.

Regards

Derek
