Hmm .... Tte Exhaust Didn't Fit ?

Got myself the Remus TTE exhaust off eBay and went to get it fitted today .....

The guys spent a good few hours bending pipes etc to try and get it to fit but they couldn't, they got it in but it was hanging to low ..... in the end I told them to leave it.

I thought it would be a straight over swap but it wasn't, any of you guys had a problem or did you sort it out with them cutting the exhaust ?

Mines a late SR ..... maybe they had changed something?

BTW might as well just add that these guys wasn't cowboys - they was very good TBH  !

Any ideas  ?

Im pretty sure it is, as it was sold as an TTE exhaust off an 2000 (Wreg) 1.3 YARIS - Linky

Mattys said that he's goning to check the spec's out for us between a late and early SR ..... cheers again bud  !

I suppose I could also post the part number just to make sure.

* BTW mines Sep 01 (YX51)

hmm ..... very strange

Looks like you've been given a wrong one!

The mounts look like they are for a 1.0... they're different to the ones I had on mine and the pipework looks like it bends wrong too.

I can't find a pic of my old one unfortunatley, but im pretty sure it was different to that one.

I could be wrong though as my mounts are ghey! But mine fitted Dicey's car ok.

Looking at it, yes, as seever_unaek said, looks like it's for a 1.0l. Almost same pipe bends as my old custom one i had made

This is what's written on the exhaust:

Remus

Typ 943

e4

030817

Made in Austria

Hmm ..... its strange

I thought you could only get the TTE exhaust for the 1.3, but I guess not?

Yep sure of it ...... I watched them with blow tourches, the lot  !

I went to another garage before the one where they tried to fit it and they said that they would have to cut the end bit off the exhaust and make a new bit for it to fit ....... I thought it wasn't right and took it to the other garage where they put it up on the ramp.

So im sure that I haven't been conned :!Removed!: !

I'll just keep it in the garage till I see one of you guys at Brunters or the Pod ...... and if it won't fit Gnome can have it ;)

Plus have a go myself ....... you must be joking lol

get ya hands dirty ya girl!

can you get under the car an take a picture? theres two types of flange on a yaris, ones like a muchroom with a compression clamp, which is the end on the back box you have, while some use the method of spring bolts and just a normal flange

Right ..... I'll see what I can do tomorrow, plus just to let you guys know that Matty has found out that there is no difference 'exhause wise' between a early and late SR.

Maybe it is for a 1L?

That wont fit a 1.0l. Its exactly like the TTE exhaust I bought (and eventually sold to seveer!) The piping on my 1.0l is the normal flange type that jaxx talked about!

The garage said the same, they'd have to cut the end off to make it fit...

Maybe its a made in france/jap thing??

... And I sold to Dicey! It's doing the rounds at TTE... quick Rob, sell it!

Hmm, if it is the same, and the flange is for the 1.3 (after a re-looky at it) then it may be your mid-setion that's different?? I don't know! These SR's all have !Removed! exhaust systems!

Bring it to Brunters, i'll fit it for ya! (Earpl and Lorne... No laughing, I can do some things properly! Not like I can use a coke bottle on an exhaust!! )

It's been raining all day .... so i've not been able to get under the car to have a look/take a pic.

My SR is Jap though as it has the 'Made In Japan' sticker in the windscreen  , unless the previous owner took the french one out and put a Jap one in

Off to look for a TS ;)
