I Want To Buy A Yaris In Ice Blue!

Hello, I'm back again!

Thanks for all your input before!

I managed to find a couple of ice blue yaris at a dealer in Waterlooville. But unfortunately I was too busy to go snap them up. Now that I have my finances sorted, and more free time to go car shopping - all the ice blues are gone!! Argh.. life's little tricks.

Back to square one and searching every day again. If anybody has any leads to a 1.3, ice blue, T3/Tspirt (aircon) let me know!

I am determined not to compromise! The thing is, I want to get my car soon as my MOT, roadtax and insurance all run out at the end of the month. Hmm...

The search continues...

Mate, there are loads loads loads on Autotrader!

Mostly Blues but there are a handful of T-Spirits on there too!

I'm an Ice Blue Yaris, get me in your garage!

Thanks for your help. Though - I'm looking for one within an hours drive from London. Saw lots of ice blues, but none with air-con :-)

full specs i'm looking for:

Yaris 1L+ (1.3 or 1.4D), ice blue, manual transmission, air-conditioning, audio-steering mounted controls, 3 or 5 dr - Must be within hour of driving distance to London

Below £10k

Why not consider travelling the extra distance if its for the right car? Seems silly not doing the longer one off journey to get the best car that will keep you happy for ages rather than a short drive for something that may bug you for a long while! :P I travelled a fair distance for mine and am SOOO glad i did! I would consider it if you find the perfect one!

Can't disagree with that!

Make a day of it if you can, give yourself time and maybe fit a couple of viewings into the day.

There is a T-Spirit spec there, with all of the above in Dagenham for £10,995.... you could get them down to 10 with a bit of bartering.....

Edit: Thinking of it - that car is incredibly overpriced! I wouldnt bother with it unless you can get it right down.... I bought my T-Spirit brand new for less than they're selling that 2nd hand! Oh and its auto.... lol, forget it!:lol:

Yeah, i saw the car in Dagenham. But its automatic as u said :P

I would go further to get a car, but due to time constraints its just not possible. Also, I will be reqesting the company of my dad who will be doing the negotiating and sorting out initial payments and he doesn't have time to follow me around the country either. So if I can, I'd prefer to find something which is a bit closer.. particularly as the ones i've seen are atleast a 3 hour drive away. 6 hours there and back, thats too far!! :P

Woohoo!

The dealer in Waterlooville is going to try and get me a car in Scotland. Here are the specs:

Toyota Yaris 1.3 VVT-i T Spirit 3-Dr

Year 2005 Mar

Mileage 12,000

Transmission Manual

Fuel Petrol

Price £8,495

Specification includes anti-lock brakes, driver seat height adjustment, driver, passenger and front side air bags, air-conditioning, 14in alloy wheels, remote central door locking, electric door mirrors, front electric windows, immobiliser, front fog lights, front/rear head restraints, rake adjustable steering column/wheel, power-assisted steering, radio/CD, audio steering wheel mounted controls and tilt/slide manual sunroof.

Hopefully, its not sold yet and my dealer can buy it off them. Fingers crossed!

I'm going to go for a test drive of the same model tomorrow, just to check i like it and discuss it more.

Wooohoo.

Great - is it Ice Blue though?

The guy i spoke to at the dealership said that he might have to charge a bit more for the cost of delivery of getting the car. Is that normal? Does that mean I won't be able to barter if he is buying the car off another dealership?

I'll be test driving the car tomororw, so I guess we will be discussing whether I want the car in Scotland or not. and If I do - I have to pay a 500 quid deposit for them to buy it. Do you think i'll be able to get any money off?

Or shall i ask for extras - MOT, stuff?

Advice please.. car buying virgin here!

That's a difficult one. I don't see why you should have to buy a car "blind". Personally, I'd tell them you'd need to see the car then decide, no strings attached. I can see their point of view too but I'd be wary about buying a car I hadn't been around with a fine toothcomb and had the opportunity to drive, before signing on the dotted line.

It should be OK, Mine is March 2005 and looks nearly mint (when clean!) but if I was buying it as is now, I'd still want things putting right at the dealer's cost. Like a refurbed alloy (kerbed, avoiding another car) and a stone chip or two.

Oh and I think I found the car we're talking about as it's the only T Spirit in blue at a Mr T in Scotland at that price!

Do a search here using the options you wanted and you'll see what I mean. There's a nice Yaris Blue up there too but no aircon. It is cheaper though but the T Spirit has more toys (like sunroof and aforementioned a/c) and is only £600 more.

I wouldn't buy blind either, they can buy the car in and I'm sure they'd sell it no problem, but they should do it so that you can drive it and have a look around it before you commit....

No matter if its the car of your dreams, buying blind is a no no! Insist you see it first...

I mean like Al says, it should be ok, but you can never be sure without seeing and driving it first.... like Al my Yaris, which I bought brand new in December 04 is pristine, absolutely spotless, however I would personally insist any potential buyers test drove her and checked her thouraghly before buying.... I'd want the buyer to be 100% certain before they parted with their cash....

And the dealership should be thinking the same.... just say to them "If I dont want it, you can easily sell it on" - and they can!
