Hi all

I know a few of you have K&N air filters in place and I was wondering whether the panel ones are really worth putting into T3 1.6? Any experiences, info would be worth having as debating whether it is worth the cost.

Cheers

I've got one on my GXi, it seemed to make the car a little more responsive at lower revs, but doesnt give a noticeable difference of power. Mine was £40 i think.

HTH

K&N filter also last longr as as the gain in perfromace that it claims, You wash them and resuse them so should make the extra expese back in not buying new filters every time.

Don't quote me on this but I had read somewhere a while ago that over time the filters allowed particles to pass through, coated the MAP sensor and if oiled incorrectly oil would get sucked in too.

Any long term users out there who could advise whether this is the case!

Cheers

i wouldn't buy a panel filter if you are looking for performance as "performance" panel filters don't increase the performance at all as the material it is made of is no better for letting air pass as the oe one. get a k&n i got one off eBay and its the best £120 i have ever spent

Budget won't allow for a full kit - K&N say their panel filter will increase bhp by 5 hp is this not so then? Not looking for major increase just perhaps a little quicker off the mark!

How did you find it using your panel filter g3m xr? Better than oem or same?

i just got a k&n 57i kit for my 1.4lt.... i have to say that i didn't notice any major increase in performance, just better throttle response and a way nicer sound!!!

personally i don't think the panel filter will do much.
