Hi, My 95 Lucida has a judder when changing up into overdrive on the auto box. I was thinking that maybe the gearbox mountings are ng. or the propshaft uj has gone. Anyone got any other ideas? apart from that it runs ok, changes up and down no problem plenty of oil in it looks clean too.

The fact that it changes through the gears no problem without the judder, would lead me away from uj or prop , as these would still judder in any gear if they were worn/gone which would give jolty gear changes. Because it only does it when you push the switch on the end of the gear lever O/D would lead me to a fault in the auto box, there must be some sort of soleniod the pushes a gear/cog in order to get overdrive. it could be that thats lazy

Just keep it in o/d all the time , mine never been out of it.

I had a look under my Lucida and everything seemed ok I changed the auto box oil and checked all the electrical connections on the gearbox. I leave it in overdrive all the time now and it seems to have cured it.

Thanks.
