Spluttering When Starting

Hi

Basically my celica splutters when its about to start, this only happens sometimes othertimes itl start fine...and then its runs perfect too

When it splutters... the whole car starts rattling (if that makes sense)...i dont know what the hell it is!

All the display lights come on as normal....the batterys not loose so its not that...so..

any ideas people?

I think this is probably one of those 'have to be there' things. Very hard to diagnose a 'splutter'. Have you tried the usual checking HT leads, dizzy cap etc? :unsure:

thanks daktari....but er i dnt know what they are and what im supposed to be looking for!

its probably something really minor like a loose wire or something!

once it starts its fine....and it only happens sometimes, its not like its consistent..

Might be an idea to get someone to check it out. Like you say, if it`s only intermittent it might be dificult to sus. But anyone with a working knowledge of an engine bay should be able to check the basics for you. Don`t go to a garage unless you have to or unless your feeling a little flush. ;) :thumbsup:
