Electric Arial Gen 5

Guys,

The electric arial on my Gen 5 Celica is playing silly buggers. Its a bit wonky and has trouble going up and down freely.

Aware i may have just made it worse rather than better i may need a replacment!

Going to have a look on eBay next but are most Toyota leccy arials the same? I.e. interchangable through the range? might open up the search.

NO. Is the simple answer. The gen5 celica shares the same aerial as the MR2 Mk2 and the Gen 6 celicas. You will have to use the original ferrule and spacer thats fitted to yours though. Other than that the mast, motor and

connections are all the same.

If you buy a cheapo after market one it`ll look gash, won`t fit properly and will be a bugger to wire in. There ar two groups of wiring going to the original aerial with two lives etc, etc. Bit of a pain if you have to rewire i would imagine :yes:

You can probably guess i`ve been there and got the t shirt. :D

goto toyota for a new mast about 40 quid fitted.
