Hows it goin ppl, just wanted to kno if n e one could give me advice, i got a starlet EP82 with a turbo timer, i want a cat 1 alarm but i have been told by sum alarm fitters that the turbo timer either has to come off the car for the alarm & imobliser to work or i have to wait for the turbo timer to stop before i can arm the alarm & imobliser!

Does anyone kno if there are alarms that work around turbo timers or have any advice wot to do?

thanks alot : )

Try sextons on Walter Road mate. I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. :)

If you leave the turbo timer installed it invalidates the Cat 1 status.

No insurance company will insure it as a Cat 1 alarm. (i've tried loads of places)

BUT - there are insurance companies that will insure you with a tubby timer & seperate alarm & imobiliser.

TBH i don't see it as a problem as usually I let the turbo's cool off for the last few miles then the timer kicks in for 30 seconds alowing you to sort yourself out before you leave the car.

Mind you if i boot it all the way i've had the timer hit 3 min before :!Removed!:

same thing goes for a remote start.

depending on where you live, a cat 1 alarm may make a hell of a difference. Not sure if your car has an immobilizer or not but I'd get the cat 1 and just stay in the car for 20secs.
