02 Corolla Radio Removal

i have been trying to remove the radio out of my sisters 02 corolla but with no joy so far i cant remove the centre part of the dash to gain access to the radio bolts. Does any one know how it is done? any help would be great as the originall radio has dropped down and its not looking to good.

thats what i have been trying but the top of the centre part seems to be stuck if i pull it feels as though it rip all the controls off.

here are some pictures as you can see the radio that is in has dropped down a lot also that when i am pulling on the centre console part it wont come away at the top.

You have to get the bottom bit of the console out first, behind it there are four screws which hold the radio in.

get a steel ruler, wrap it with leccy tape and then pry at the top. it will pop out but it is seriously stiff.

Which Corolla model do you have... T2? T3? T-Spirit? T-Sport?

The T-spirit and T-sport have the same sort of centre console as like i have in my pics.

But i think the T2 & T3 models are slighty different put together in the centre console.

I think it was remove the middle knob and you will find a hidden screw behind it which will loosen it, but not sure sorry.

Where the surround is on the air vents for the radio, it all the same, undo the 4 bolts underneath and give it a slow tug out, don't worry if it feels stuck, it will come out.

im pretty shore it is the T3 model thanks for the help will have another go at it after work tonight.

if u got the knobs on the centre console, pull the middle knob out and you'll find a little screw behind it, take that out. then the whole thing should just pop out when u pull it
