Peugeot are doing £500 discount with lowish(7.9%) cost finance as well

Not fantastic though is it ? You can get £500 off anyway just by haggling and 7.9 can be beaten by most High St lenders.

What I am interested in is to see if the depreciation is different on a Pug / C1 / Aygo. After all, depreciation is the single biggest cost on a car.

Well, interestly Steve, I just checked the buyers guide in my latest copy of What Car and the retained value over three years for each car is as follows:

Citroen C1 - 48-49% (49% for top model)

Peugeot 107 - 49%

Toyota Aygo - 52%

So it would seem the Aygo holds more of its value than the other two, even thought they're all the same car!

makes sense the aygo does as it has the toyta Badge behind it, as in most motor surveys the french companies general get a bad rep through reliability and general rubbishness.

in actual fact was the reason i went aygo over the 107 and C1 even though was slightly dearer i had that Badge of mr T and all that goes with it

Thanks Em - this confirms my thoughts.

The Aygo retains around 3% more of it's value so on a basic Aygo at £6710 thats worth about £200. As it only costs £150 more new it's actually cheaper in the long term. I know the numbers are fairly small but it does throw new light on the whole C1 / 107 are the same car but cheaper than Aygo issue.

The Badge means a lot obviously, which is weird considering it is the same car as the other two...

I mean, like you say Steve, its not a great deal of difference between the retained values but it does make up for the Aygo being ever so slightly more expensive than they others.... just the fact it has a Toyota Badge will do that. I wonder where they get their figures from - I mean the cars havent been out a year yet and already the retained values have been forecast.... maybe they will change when the first batch of cars are coming up to the three-year-threshold?

3% differnence on £8k is £240?. So guess it down to relationship you have with dealer. Peugeot agent is two blocks from me, over twenty miles to a Toyota agent, who also impressed me, they brought a Yaris diesel for me to try at work  .

The thing that swung it though was the extra airbags option on the Pug and the £30 they charge for the tacho  . Though they charge more for a centre armrest than BMW :o ! So I will live without that.

:( Nah! they charged me about £180 for the airbags. Though they gave me mats and flaps.

Have you noticed the VSC blank under the LCD display in the instrument pod? Though I managed to catch the back end when on ice in Morrison's car park, phew, at about 10mph  though I was :o, me thinks winter tyres next October.

So, bearing in mind they're all the same car, can you get the same optional extras for the Aygo as you can for the C1/107?

Sorry did n't make it clear, by mentioning the VSC blank, was just pointing out it would be nice to be offered a stability program, also optional extras vary from which Badge you pick.

peugeot 107 7.300+

it doesn't matter if you paid more. its a toyota engine.

Heard alot of bad things about Citroen. and had a peugeot myself for less then a year, would NEVER go back to them. as far as i see toyota are easily the best.

If paying 2K more for one is what you have to do then trust me its worth it

I got my Aygo for cost price as the dealer is a friend of mine, but even if I didn't know the dealer I would be quite happy to pay 8k for an Aygo. I don't understand why you would want a Citreon, you get what you pay for and you have a Toyota. The word "Toyota" speaks for itself!
