my 4wd isnt engaging so can someone tell me the procedure to engage 4wd on my surf . like at what speeds can i do it , will it engage standing still or do i have to be moving , do i need to lift off the fuel pedal , my light on the dash isnt lighting since i had an alarm fitted 3 days ago , i;m wondering if the bulbs blown or if a wires been cut somewhere .

its a 5 speed manual , i know not to use it on dry tarmac - can i simply jack up both wheels and try turning them to test if its the dash bulb or not . anything else i could try , i hear a relay click when i press the 4wd button . :help:

its working now , the knob that fitted the alarm had jammed a vacuum pipe ,closing it - i freed it off just now and the 4wd system is working again.

i will be calling the alarm people next week . useless ham shankers.

Glad to hear that you 'fixed' it ;)

Any chance you can send me some interior shots of your 5sp Surf as I am hoping to fit one into my mk3 HiLux, no rush but it would be really helpful buddy

I'm hoping to use the carpets, the door cards and the nicer manual gear lever surround B)

Thanks :)
