"(Kyodo) _ Toyota Motor Corp. told the transport ministry Tuesday it will recall a total of 76,248 minivan-type vehicles it had manufactured under 10 models due to possibly defective front propeller shafts or brake boosters.

The vehicles, including the Hiace Regius and Granvia, were produced between September 1995 and October 2005, Toyota said in its report submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, adding that 3,167 of them were ambulances with possible brake problems.

The other minivan-type vehicles' front propeller shafts could have had not enough resistance to high temperatures, the automaker said. In the worst case, the shafts would be damaged and the vehicles would not be able to run at all."

So if you are living the UK and own a Japanses imported car, are you left to pay for the fix yourself?

Cheers,

Ben.
