Whats It All About

I don't get it.

Was looking at the Aygo forum.

People buy and aygo and then spend loads of money modding them.

one bloke is thinking of 3 10 inch subs, anothers looking at the TTE accessories.

I don't mind modding cars. some go a bit too far, but there are some nice ones out there.

But modding an Aygo. Wots the point. its only got a 1 litre engine.

the money they spend on the car then all the parts is probably the equivalent to buying a new corolla.

I really don't see the point. the only thing those cars are gonna do is make people laugh as they accelerate past them.

People mods their cars because they want to, i dont see the problem with putting a decent stereo in any car

Just because it has a 1.0 engine doesnt matter, people could say the same about modding a Corolla, after all theres plenty of cars that could also out accelerate a Corolla

Under the cost arguement, for the price of a new Corolla, you could have a Celica GT4 or a Supra TT

If people modding their Aygos worries you so much perhaps you should not visit the Aygo forum.

And it seems that if you have another 600cc then alloys and a sub are OK

Well i was just pointing out that the amount of money that people spend on moddding a car is, in my eyes, pointless.

what does it do????

makes it look better??? thats quite questionable in alot of cases.

on to the sub.... i brought it to improve the sound for me. not so the car will be a rolling bass bucket like the aygo with 3 subs will. those people buy them mainly to 'show off' but i cann't see how you can show off in an aygo, nova, corsa or any other of those cars that modders buy. Most modded cars i see are people who buy a crappy car, then spend anbout twice as much making it worse. the idea of buying a new car and doing the same seems pointless to me.

and the alloys... can i help it if they come standard on the car. i don't think so.

there are a lot of contradiction going on here, if you are one of these people that doesn’t like modifying your car why put the ‘biggest’ alloys you can fit onto your car? To make it look good, no?

why criticise the people who enjoy modifying their car, it is actually a hobby to most of them, fair enough some people do go to the extreme with their mod’s but so what?!

So what if people want to put a big sub and a big amp in their boot, not everyone use their boot space for work. Some people like their music loud, some people like it softer, some like it with that extra kick to it, who cares?!

at the end of the day, like you said before, it depends what you want really.

WHOA WHOA.

I'm not saying modding bad. I like some modding.

I was just asking why people do it to a car like the Aygo.

Yep Aygo is a 1 litre and the oil burner a 1.4. Sport trim is not like a T Sport in other models.

I'm cool with Wilmot I just thought it a bit unfair to pick out Aygo as 'no point modding' - bit like saying why do skinny guys go to the gym ?

It's all Toyota and we are all into our own things

Fair enough. I'm personally think that small cars should stay mod free, or at most change the alloys.

I always thought that modifying a car was to make it more individual. There are numerous reasons to modify a car whether it be for indivuality, insurance purposes or people really like the Aygo.

As a club for all Toyota owners is it really right to put down those that want to modify there own vehicle, everyones taste is different. With TTE parts the Aygo can be modified without losing their warranty which offers peace of mind motoring, sound system if they like sounds...

At least their cars wont be the same as everyone elses, is your car stock standard ??
