Just to let anyone who's interested know the TV Show 'Vroom Vroom' will be testing the Aygo next week.

Wednesday 26/04 around 8pm I think on Sky One

If they stick to the same format as last night's review on the new Vauxhall Astra (VXR) they'll review based on Ride Handling, ICE (In Car Entertainment), Thrill Factor(??), Acceleration and another catergory but I forget what that is.

It might be worth a look, even just to see one of our baby's on the telly

Bit of a rubbish test though. The way he drove it it wasn't gonna be thrilling. I am sure Russ Swift would have made it exciting. Acceleration is never going to be the strong point of a city car. My girlfriend does her makeup in my car most mornings and she always looks stunning for work. Admittedly the sound system is c#@p. But it is faster than an Astra VXR up a multi story carpark!!

the pedals are too close together, and with the seat in my position (all the way back) there was no leg room behind my seat...

If you read the What Car Review then on the surface of things the Aygo doesn't look great but checking it in more detail then it's like they forget that the Aygo is a city car! They say things like "there's room for 4 adults to share cabin space but not their luggage" Well Duh ! It's a city car and doesn't need a lot of luggage space ! Or it criticises the open road performance - again forgetting it's city car. Personally I like Top Gear not just for recommending the Aygo but in the way they look at from a real life point of view and also from a silly point of view for many of their TV reviews (eg Clio racing a mountain bike courier through town). Too many magazines think about specs and on the limit performance forget that even enthusiasts will rarely get the chance to be on the limit.

So after driving the Aygo I thought it handled well enough, the steering was quite direct and you knew what was going on under your foot and bum ! This is what's required to have some fun. My S3, when original had 3 times the power (and probably twce the weight) but was less fun to drive than the Aygo in standard form. Having sorted out the S3 in the power, brake and suspension it now has 5 times the Aygos power, still twice the weight but now handles, brakes and steers like a good un'. The Beetle Tracey has has terrible steering and it really spoils the others mods so I could never enjoy it so now I'll be looking forward to having fun in either car I drive. :)

Right sorry to go on about things but I love cars and driving and think that's theres no reason not to have fun with 67bhp or 350bhp ! Roll on 17 May when we are due to get the little Aygo Sport.

i know there is no leg room behind you but with the seat all the way back you are sitting in comfortable ! im 5ft11 and with the seat all the way back i can just pess the pedals all the way!

for a citycar the aygo is the best as its nippy and has a steering that reesponds fast to turns and you would notice that more if you drive another car! i had many cars but as much as i missed the aygo when i had to leave at the dealer for the first service and seatcover change i never missed any car!
