Has any of you super tech wizards sorted out how to play MP3 CDs in the CD player?

I burnt a CDRW last with 4 MP3 tracks and it played fine. I tried another with more tracks and there was no sound (not a lot of good).

I had converted WMAs with Jodix Free WMA to MP3 Converter and burnt the CD with Nero. May try burning with Audacity next (as recommended by The Gadget Show).

The CD player itself should not be able to play MP3 CDs. The only way to play MP3s in the car is to plug your portable MP3 player to the car stereo.

I didn't think the stereo could play MP3 CDs?? :o

I was under the impression it could only play MP3 through an MP3 player, connected through the input on the front?

Yes - I must've had my wires crossed. What you can do (and this must be what I did) is use Nero or (Windows Media Player) to burn Audio CDs from WMAs or MP3s and they should play as (converted to) CD Audio Files. You're then limited to 80mins per CD (or whatever) but have the convenience of not having to carry (or plug in) an MP3 Player and, if you burn to CD RWs, you can change the tracks (not all CD Players can read CD RWs - my Sony hi-fi can't but my Aygo player can).

When I wrote my entry above I was not aware that the files had been converted.

Oh well - it's an option.
