Hi there, just introducing myself to the forum!

I'm Gayle (the username kinda gives that away!) and I'm getting my shiny new Aygo next Friday. Went for a testdrive in one yesterday and was very impressed. I've liked it ever since I saw it on Top Gear last year.

Anyway, this is the car I'm buying! Does this seem like a good buy?

I hope posting links like that are allowed - slap my wrists mods if it's not ok!

Look forward to getting to know some of you!

Bye!

Hi Gayle, welcome to TOC!

Dont worry, posting links is fine!

Looks like a good little motor, all I'll say is check it has its service history intact as it should have had its 10k service already, so make sure thats been done

Price seems reasonable, but I'm sure you could get it down a smidge! ;)

Hope you enjoy your new Aygo! :D

Thanks for the welcome Demonic Angel! I'm taking my Dad along with me when I go to get it, I'll probably let him try and get another little smidge off it, I'll be a cash buyer so you never know. I spoke to a couple of dealers here in Glasgow and they both said that it's a fantastic price for that car given it's got air con, sat nav, spoiler and the sports silencer - my boy racer of a brother will be very impressed I think! :D

Hiya, I have an Ice Blue Yaris - it's always good to see a fellow Ice Blue owner!

As mentioned before ensure it's had the 10K service/health check thingy, apart from that enjoy it & all it's extra's :D

Thanks for the advice everyone. Will make sure to ask about the 10k mile service. Keep thinking that at that price it's too good to be true! I've paid a £200 deposit over the phone for it and I can have that refunded if for any reason I don't want to go ahead and buy it but I'm fairly certain I'll be zooming back up the motorway to Glasgow in it on Friday :D

Hi Gayle

If you paid the full asking price as stated on the website, then I don't feel it's a very good deal. With persistent haggling at a Toyota Dealership here in the NW, I managed to get a brand new one (06 reg), exactly the same as yours for an extra £500.00, only!! :D

I see your point sjnwuk, I was offered a brand new Sport model here in Glasgow for £7535 with a part exchange on my old car. The fact is though that you lose money on a brand new car the moment you drive it out of the dealership. It's already been pointed out that to get the car I'm interested in brand new would cost almost £9500 so in that respect I think this is a good deal.

i got my aygo with 5 doors but same spec as the one you are interested in for 7995 and that was ex demo, so i think you are getting a bonkers deal

Hello Gayle and Welcome to the Forum

I picked up my Sport nearly two weeks ago. It is an excellent car in many ways - I hope you enjoy yours.

I'm not sure that people posting here about it not being a great deal are allowing for the TTE work, air and sat nav. I stick by it being a 9.5 new so 7 k 10 months on ain't bad - even better if you can squeeze a bit more

New haggled –

£7303 + Air Con £471 + metallic paint £306 + rear skirt £211 + roof spoiler £206 + sports silencer £393 + sat nav £400 + painting & fitting (estimated) £350

=

£9640

Thanks SMW, you've confirmed to me that it is a steal at that price! Even other dealers have said so. Will see if I can get my Dad to haggle some more off it though! :D

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

Sounds like a good deal.

Someone else has paid for the initial depreciation and not you

Looks like the car has now been removed from that website now because I'm going to be buying it!

I'm soooooo excited, only 4 more days to go! :D

There's just the small matter of a couple of exams to get past before then though :crybaby:

Good luck with the exams and well done on finding the right car at the right price!
