Happy St Georges Day!

I won't be celebrating as such, but I do have a new T-Shirt which I bought yesterday with "England" on it & I'm gonna wear it all day :D

Might treat myself to a beer tonight tho

I shall be forcing myself to have a celebratory bevvy at some stage this arvo. Got the Taxi booked and i`m on holiday from work for a week, so no need to worry about hang over issues.:cheers:

Hi

St. George, the Patron Saint of England.

He wasn't English at all...

in fact, he was born in Turkey.... and maybe in Palestine, according to the Wikipedia.

His mother was Palestinian and his father from Turkey.

Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_George

The Muslims venerate him as al-Khadr (meaning green), as do Arab Xtians, especially in Palestine, Syria and Turkey.

He is also the Patron Saint of a number of countries other than of England.

I'm going to spend the day being very English.

I've had the full English breakfast so far. After watching the Boro Match in the pub I plan to binge drink for the rest of the night then pick a fight with the first person I meet outside the pub before vomiting in the gutter and staggering home.

Engerland ! our ancestors must be so proud
