Speed Related Clicking Front Nearside

My 1999 Avensis TD Estate which has done about 65000 miles has developed a speed related rythmic clicking noise which appears to be coming from the nearside front. I have checked for stones in tyres etc or anything hanging from underside of car - noise is not disimilar to seat belt buckle bouncing on road - to no avail. Noise becomes faster / louder with increasing speed and is still present if I travel out of gear. Car appears to be operating normally (brakes, steering etc).

Ideas what to look for please. :help:

I had a similar noise on an old Corolla - It turned out to be the metal guard on the hub. Somehow it got twisted and was catching on the brake disk once every revolution.

It seemed to catch more when turning.

Try checking that nothing is wrapped around the drive shafts. It could be a bit of road debris that is catching whilst it is spinning around with the shaft.

HTH.
