Though I'd mention that I've just renewed my insurance with a different company. I was with Firebond, now I'm with Performance Direct. I phoned around loads of places and the quotes were ridiculous. I am as old as Noah remember.

My new insurance is fully comp with £150 excess and comes in at £186. :)

Not bad eh. I thought it may be dodgy but the documents arrived in a leatherette folder, which is luvely, and a silver wallet card, which is a bit flash. Oh and that includes legal, and tow you home breakdown cover EU wide.

I don't think I'd ever drive to Europe anyway as it would be cheaper to hire a private Lear jet for a fortnight. still managing 13-16 mpg!

I couldn't believe my quote was £700 for a 23 year old with 7 years no claims and a clean liscence!!!!! I am sure I used to pay less then that when I got my first mkiii at 18!

How do you get 7yrs no claims being 23 Charlie?

That would mean you would had to have passed your driving test when you were 15 and, in this country, that ain't possible....

Only 16yr olds can get a full UK driving licence.... and that's only possible if they are either registered disabled or in the armed forces.

If you passed your test when you were 17, then at best you can only have 5yrs no claims, maybe 6yrs if your soon to be 24 (you cannot count the year in which you passed your driving test)

Some companies do bonus accelerator as well, giving a years NCB in 10 months, so after 6 years you could have 7 years NCB!

I had that the first 2 years and from then on had to remove a years bonus as all the sites I tried came back with errors saying my age and NCB don't match. :(
