Heater And Tr6 Blues

Its that man again.

Sorted my year old heater problems out at last. The panel lights kept going off. On the third time I'd taken it out I checked all the circuitry again using Ohm meter. I though it was the 16 point cable from the connector to the unit, but it all checked. Put back in and still problem. Took it out and decided to resolder all the 32 point connections on back plate. Blow me down it now works like it never has, i.e. working properly. So if anyone else has the on-off heating panel then resolder the back plate connections as the joints must become 'dry' over time.

Here is another problem but with my mate's TR6, maybe someone will know. It wont go in gear with engine running. Yesterday we fitted a new clutch slave cylinder, the last was worn and though it was buggered and not pushing release bearing sufficiently. Well he started it up and still would not go into any gear. I told him to try reverse so he forced it and it went in and the car careered to the back of his garage into his bench and tool chests..Ouch!!! Fortunately no damage done. Any ideas what the problem may be anyone?

Regards

Michael

The clutch of course isnt disengaging so you need to check the whole clutch system really.

If it isnt the release bearing then its probably a lack of clutch fluid or an air lock in the system.

Unfortunately i'd say it would be best to pull it all apart and put it back bit by bit :(
