Club Toyota is worthwhile for the reduced RAC membership :D

Hey Woody, let me know if your beesting aerial fits! I've not had success on my SR with the 2 I've tried...

Also, is it hard to paint callipers?

well you can in theory paint the calipers while on the car which is really easy as you just jack the front up and remove wheel! However if you get paint on discs or pads could be bit dodgy. However then removing the whole thing is bit more indept but doable! I'm gona mayb get a hand or just give a go! Depends how much you can get wrong kind of thing? I guess may need bleeding or something if you remove but will have to look into it!

O and didnt realise it would be so hard to get beesting aerial? Is it not just screwed in? You tried the ones on eBay that say "fit (list of toyotas) and yaris"?

Ah cool, might paint my callipers at some point, let us know how it goes.

Yeh, problem is the base of the aerial mount thing is quite thin - I bought one off eBay that is for Yaris's and the base of the aerial was wider than the top of the mount - it looks quite bad. Likewise for a nicer one I bought thinking it might fit and then had to return :-s.

The guy at the local car audio place reckons that the P1 Yaris can't have bee sting aerials fitted to them - and I need to get a replacement original aerial from Toyota - or change the mount on the roof but that wouldn't be ideal.

Calipers are dead easy... one of the first things I did!

Just jack-up, take the wheel off, give it a good clean and scrub and then apply your hammerite red straight on!

Just avoid the discs and pad and your fine.

Cheers mate will be having a go at that sometime aswell then! Lists getting ever longer :P

So anyone on here have a P1 with a shorter aerial and where did you get from? I just want a black shorted one and wana pay as far under a tenner as possible really!

O and the Speakers i got look harder to fit than i originally thought :P Should be easy enough still though! I'm guessing everyone used the stock door grills and then mounts their Speakers into door as before? I'm debating whether to use the Pioneer grills or not. Will look at how it would look when i fit them i suppose.

Still waiting for rivet gun atm so all waiting on that atm :( Got my decent screwdriver through though so can sort out dash as used wrong screws when refitting so heater knobs dont go back on properly :P

Use the standard door grill!

If you use new ones then it looks far too obvious that you have upgraded your stereo and people will prolly come looking in your car if they think you might have left the detachable bit of the headunit or they'll think you have a stereo worth stealing - the expense of having to repair a broken window, even if they haven't taken anything, is still very annoying!

True fair enough just as was looking at how nice the Speakers looked through black grill but guess your right :P Anyone with a shorter aerial on a P1 care to share piccies and where they got it from and price?

Hehe i aint seen yours fiance so wouldn't know :P Plus any idea where you got it from/person you bought off got it from? I just need one with thin base as flared base look silly on yaris where it screws in! Don't really wana replace whole unit! Other possibility is cut it down and refit end piece :P

O and no Mac siggy for you then Em :P

The standard speaker grills are built into the door card, so it's much easier to use them.

Knowing my luck it will be discontinued before i get it! Got my horns today (thanks kimi) and gota refit dash, dealer sticker :P and do dash Speakers this weekend then atleast. In the process of painting my callipers...just waiting for my mum to return with a smaller paintbrush!

Painting them black, will post pictures when I'm done. Don't ask about the colour :-P.

Anyone know how easy it is to install an induction kit?

Black was possibly not the best colour, it gives more of an understated look which I quite like :-).

Dead easy to paint, was stopped from doing the other one by the lack of another jack and the rain :-(.

But let me know what you think of the first. People are going to think I'm driving around without brakes! It's pretty much disappeared!

I've got one ....... and it's kack TBH, okay it's shorter but picking up local radio stations is a problem too (esp when your driving down the motorway and stuck in traffic and you can't pick up no local radio stations for RDS) but if you don't get about and listen to the big stations you will be okay

I brought it from eBay and the colour has already faded and it's now a horrible colour.

I would pay the extra cash and get a Richbrook one personally  !

The 'blade' looks very nice ;) !

I'll get a foto laters if you still want one?

You get what you pay for!

Ooh sweet, when I get my summer job I shall prolly try with an induction kit :-).

Are you certain about the Richbrook aerials DaveSR? I've not seen one in real life, but by comparing photos it looks just as big as normal beestings :-(!
