I decided to clean out my air box and filter yesterday.

When i started the car on the night, there was a very loud sucking noise  , you woulda thought i had a k&N on it by the sound it was making, it also ate quite a bit of petrol is the process :crybaby: , after the car has been running for about 15 mins it calms down :help:

Any one got any idea's to what it could be

Not really. But it might be worth taking it apart and reassembling again. Probably a hose off somewhere.

That was the first thing i checked :crybaby: make sure everything was fitted on right.

I`m not familiar with airboxes on the gen 6.. (Or 5 for that matter  ) Obviously then, you`ve checked the hose connections to the box. What about the other end of the hose?

Don`t know if it`s the same on yours but my airbox used to fit ina hole in the inner wing which connected to the resonator box between the wings. Might be worth checking the seal on that.

most likely a hose from the resonator box next to the big airbox , there are 2 pipes fixed from that , 1 goes into the big air hose on the airbox
