Has anyone got any photos of a "before and after" when fitting a modified retention strap to a Rav4 rear door?

The only reason I ask is that I picked up my '06 T180 yesterday expecting the door to only open half way, but it opens fully 90 degrees...

Unless I'm missing something, I think this might have been sorted now.

Of course!

So that's the solution - everyone trade their Ravs for T180s. Job's a good 'un.

Does anyone know where i can get a modified retention strap for my new Rav 4 rear door to allow it to open to 90o and is it quite easy to fit.

oooh... ok then, do I take it that you can do this on the new 06 models (XT5 in my case)?

Confirm for me please someone, am I assuming correctly that the reason that the door doesn't open is purely due to blocking the lights? So conversion for 90 degree opening is simple / cheap?

From what I understand, it's always been simple and cheap (£50ish) as all that's involved is a replacement door retention strap (the flat bit of metal in the door hinge). Plenty of people on here who have updated their cars and I suppose it's now easier than ever - "Mr Toyota Dealer, please give me the same door strap as on that there T180 in your showroom."
