Yaris D-4D is as quick as T Sport, i have a D-4D with Power box which makes it 90+ bhp and it pulls quickly and top speed is over 110mph. Had T sport before and it was pretty niosy when going over 70, but D-4D cruises even at 95 and is quit as T Sport doing 50.

D-4D Yaris is the car to own, beside mine has a T Sport kit on it so i have goodness of Both, T Sports Looks and D-4D performance and AMAZING economy, I get over 550 miles per tank compare to 300 for T Sport (Only if driven gently).

SO Go and Drive a D-4D and buy one, they are amazing...

I was talking about the Standard T Sport, obviously yours look like heavily modified to get 140bhp, You are welcome to race my Pulsar GTI-R (300bhp) or my Evo 3 (300+bhp) I'll blow your little T Sport in to bushes.

Who the **** cares about 0-60?

Who stops driving after 10 seconds in REAL LIFE?? It's irrelevant ...

Nobody disputes diesels are sluggish to 60mph, it's the torque when you are already rolling that makes them so satisfying to drive.

Get on a country lane and try to FOLLOW a D-4D, it'll stomp away at every bend and within a few miles you'll be left for dead. That's REAL LIFE performance, not silly drag strip stuff.

... and as far as I know the Yaris D-4D motor is alloy and incredibly light.

*hand*

As that's the performance off the lights, round the roundabout and "see you at the pub" ..

You are has more touque per tonne, and I can't see anywhere it'd beat me ..

THAT'S where I totally disagree - you MAY have me off the lights, but off roundabouts? No chance.

Look at the 30-50, 50-70 figures ... the real life stuff, not the big exhaust, big alloys down the High St looking at yourself in the shop windows stuff ... I'd be supping my first pint at the pub before you landed :P

AND ... the pint would taste sweeter cos it would be out of the money I'd saved in insurance and fuel.

show me the 30-50, 50-70 figures. and if were talking about a standard Tsport, lets talk about a standard D4D with 125ft/lbs compared to the 107ft/lbs of the Tsport......... OH sooo much more dont forget your 30bhp down on that. (whatcar figures)

Actually the Toyota website quotes 140ft/lb for a standard Yaris, and with a tuning box and performance air filter I'd hope to be making more than that.

Roll on figures are just that, roll on in the gear you are in - not change down 3 gears and scream at max revs. Where abouts on the rev band is max power/torque on a T-Sport? And you drive at max revs all day then? Like **** you do, nobody does. You would attract so much attention from Plod you would get bored very quickly. This is what I mean about EVERY DAY, REAL LIFE performance.

Drag strips, rolling roads? What's the point, what does it prove? ... totally irrelevant in every day driving.

Who's got a better "performance" car?

Hell, if you wanted to go down "real world" route. I can ride a push bike quicker into work (5+ miles) than I can drive, does it make it a quicker car?

(My stats were all got from Parkers.co.uk)

HAHAHAHAHA (waits for regulars to post "yes he does")

come on then mate where are these 30-50, 50-70 figures you keep going on about??? i have mine right here (+ i dont want none of this "my mate timed it with his stopwatch on his nokia" tat) come on pal you've got to understand where im coming from, you dont seam very willing to want to prove anything, so lets take it on track mate thats as close as you going to get on public roads.

Well, there's only 1 fair way of settling this:

Slap them both out on the table.

Nah, I'd break the table ;)

I'm happy to let this carry on as long as it doesn't get personal or just turn into a slagging match ..

None of my mates would be even slightly intested in timing our little Yaris to 60mph, or any other measurement for that matter. You may have time to play on tracks and drag strips but I have other more pressing demands on my time.

I think by your reaction you are a little rattled by the increasing interest in tuning the D-4D on these pages?

I'm quite happy to have good solid performance available instantly, quietly without having to make a fuss.

This is after all our run around, our shopping car so why would I want to flog it around a race track? - if I want real 'performance' I'll use the blackbird.

... and yes, it's petrol !

nah acctually im just talkin to alanbradly on msn saying how much you could get out of the diesel :)

anyway wheres these 30-50, 50-70 figures you keep rattling on about??? + looks to me like your not willing to prove anything??? why's this?

come on POST THE FIGURES :)

I'm personally not "rattled" .. I just get fed up of people quoting 0-60 times in 10+ seconds and calling it performance. IMO it's not.

I don't drive a performance car.

I've got two cars in the sub 6 sec 0-60 and both 150+ top end. Neither are what I'd call performance.

i aint sayin your rattled ben :P but when your s2k will do 4x more revs than the oil burner i'd call it performance :P

It was b1ackb1rds comment about being rattled about performance *cough* oil burners ..

I personally think there is a LOT of potential .. look at the Audi Le Mans ..

But I'm jet to see one on the road next to me, or round the 'ring chasing me.
