This Diesel Vs Petrol argumaent never ends!

I'll attempt an interlude....

I have NO knowledge of any individual performance car maker who has even considered a diesel engine. (Noble, TVR etc)

Every mainstream manufacturer has a 'Top' Model... not one of those is a diesel. (Except Skoda, but that's a Skoda.)

Every large performance car outfit doesn't even use diesel vans! (Ferrari, Lambourghini)

Diesels sound horrid, they're heavier, use more oil, and are in NO WAY whatsoever sporty.

The things diesels are good at is giving reps good MPG. Giving van drivers some pull for the heavy loads. Giving a slight advantage on an equivalent petrol powered car once doing 50mph in 3rd gear.

Petrols sound better, are generally lighter, use cheaper fuel (granted, they use more, but who cares!) they're cleaner (none of that particle crap) they don't blow black smoke, they can be revved higher so when actually driving they're much better fun and once they're turboe'd as are 90% of diesels they're quicker than ANY diesel that's even close to being an equivalent.

As I said though, the argument will never end, so lets just say that there are people who like diesels and there are people who know better!

Or to put it another way ... there are those who spend loads of money on engine tuning to get more power and then pay out loads in increased insurance and fuel costs ... and then there are those who have ample stomp already AND money in our back pockets through insurance, tax and fuel savings :)
