Super Strut To Mcpherson Conversion

hey guys new here,

just wondering if anyone has successfully converted their super strut st202 to the original mcpherson set up or if it is possible?

i have been offered the hubs,shock,arms from a uk car quite cheap and wondering could i re use my own shafts for the new hubs

you'd need alot more than that i'm afraid - steering rack ends , lower wishbone arms , possibly the lower sub frame would need replacing too.Brake flexi hoses are different .

SS parts are not that expensive to replace and cover 60 to 75 k

Thats funny everyone on here dreads the day the SS goes Belly up! Mind you I suppose that individual parts might be affordable as opposed to a complete set up!

you can get the 2 main sections for around £300 , in todays money its not alot , once they are changed ,they will last a long time.

i was been given the sub frame, lower wishbones, track rod ends all in the deal aswell for 250euro dats alot less than it would cost to replace one side, both sides in mine are gone very bad,

is it the banjo ends on the brakelines that are different?

go for it then , the brake flexi hoses on ss are 2 section pipes , the standard st202 pipes are 1 piece , replacing them wont cost much though.

think i better check the splines on my hub make sure my shafts will work 2,
