Hi, im thinking about buying a Starlet GT soon. Id never really considered as you dont see them around often but they look like a right wolf in sheeps clothing.

In general what are they like to own? Im looking for a car that is very reliable and wouldnt usually consider a 1300cc car knocking out 135bhp but wiht it being toyota i thought things might be different? Are the engines prone to blowing up with occasional accelerator abuse? What sort of fuel economy wiht general driving could i expect? What kind of power can be achieved with a simple stage 1 ecu remap? I would be looking to keep the car pretty standard due to insurnace purposes but an ecu remap woudl be something i would consider.

cheers

In general they are good cars. As with any used car though there are good and bad examples out there. Can't really tell you much about running costs etc, but if you take your time you'll find a good one.

Good luck
