6th Gen Celica Standard Alarm Query

Well, after the piston rings went on the gen5 :crybaby::crybaby: it had to be replaced....

With a gen6 GT :D

The new car is a 95 UK GT, completely standard. Have put a decent air filter in there and got the doors nicely sound-deadened, got the Clarion/Genesis/Infinity ICE in.

But I have noticed something with the alarm. It is standard and as the ultrasonic sensors et al. There is a switch on the side of the fob - one way the indicators blink three times when arming, the other way they blink twice. Any idea what the difference is?

Ta.

Could be that one of the ways your leaving an area unprotected. I have a similar option on my R*ver. You can leave the ultrasonics un protected in case you have to leave something in the car that might move around (Dog for instance).

Try sitting in the car then arm the alarm using both options one at a time. When the alarm has set, try waving your arms around. If the alarm sounds then repeat the procedure using the other option.

Just a thought but hey! At worst people will think you`re a little strange.:thumbsup:

Indeed, the switch enables or disables the interior sensors.
