RX7 just stupid on fuel but very fast. GTO also just stupid on fuel but not that fast (very heavy)

GT4 the best bet st185 has bout 200bhp standard nice allround car but getting old now. st205 has bout 245bhp standard. 300bhp is easy to get with out stupid money but st205's are usually more money spend atleast 4grand any less and there's probly sumat wrong.

was looking at the later model gt4 as dont like the look of the older one :P

What should i been looking for if i were to be going and looking at on on the weekend, any common faults with the engine?

The engine is fairly bomb proof if looked after .. it's the 3rd generation of the 3sgte. Totally rally spec.

Look for front suspension woes, the figure 8's on the superstruts are know to go, and be fairly expensive.

Apart from that, make sure the g'box doesn't crunch in 2nd (worn syncro's). and look for the usual squeaks and rattles.

Out of those three cars, I'd skip the GTO (too big for me) and the RX7 in this country is costly to run (the US/Japan/Oz owners get rebuilds cheap compared to rip-off UK). The GT4 is a reliable 300bhp car. And a lot nicer to look at compared to scumbaru's and sh*tsubishis .. All in my opinion of course ;)

Make sure you check the Superstrut as Bibbs said, its £300 a side for the bits

And nice choice with the ST205, you wont be dissapointed :D

well thats one less person on the happy to help cards :!Removed!:

think all the advice above is true. GTO too heavy/slow and prone to electrical faults AFAIK. RX7 ok if you don't try to make it any faster as one slight piece of det and it's rebuild time, one of my friends max'd out multiple credit cards thanks to his and he only managed 30 odd miles in 2 years before he sold up
