4x4 + Mr2 = Mr0.5 -- Crash Pic's - Fair Well....

Alas the end has come for my beloved MR2, Many thanks to the Lady who kindly pulled out right from a junction without looking..... but luckly she was ok and her car full of mates.

this is a testiment to the how well these cars fair in a crash!

At the time the roof was out and the inpact was hard enough to close the roof gap by 8MM you could even see where the Rear of the roof meets the T-bar it had bulged up by 4-5 MM

The funnyest part was after the cop's had moved my car ( Yes it did drive - just ) two 14 year olds came out of no where and asked if they could take pic's on there phones. I laughed and said carry on !

Sadly now i'm in living Dubai there appears to be no MR2's whatsoever ! shame.

- Question is - how much is it worth for insurance purposes ??? ( FSH , Brand new rubber all round, Good Cond , H plate, 80K Miles )

its probably worth nothing and not repairable if the roof has caved.

I'd have a look on www.autotrader.co.uk for comparable ..

the MR2 is good in a stack as it's got a LOT of crumple zone .. no engine to take your legs off ..

Glad to see you hit the 4x4 good and proper, who said those things were safe in a crash, the buckled 2 seater, or the 4x4 laying on it's side. I know which I'd prefer :D

Wow, what a mess, glad your OK, this is the 4th MR2 I've read about this week thats been involved in an accident.

I think the fact that the 4x4 was at an angle, pulling out from the junction might mean that an impact from the side could topple it easier.
