As the title says, what was it that first attracted you to the Aygo ? Lets see if we all have different things we like or if it was the same thing ?

I'll start it off: I loved the styling - the shape of the headlights the little bulges in the rear - at last a little ricer with style (it so outclasses the bigmouthed C1 and 107 in this area :o )

The economy helped me buy the car and after the test drive the nippy performance compared to Tracey's Beetle sealed the deal.

SO how about you ? :driving:

I agree the Aygo has a pretty face but i could not live with a butt like that.

Hence i was drawn to the 107 for that and better value for money. Plus i work for Peugeot!!

Sorry but think the lights are too big at the back for the 107 too but at least there's choice for anyone wanting any of the three to suit their own taste. Peugot's have been nice looking cars since the 205 days but I can't take to this huge mounth they are pttuing on all there cars - and this is from someone who drives an Audi (small grill though) ;)

Tell me, how does you rear spoiler fit as I like it better than the Toyota and TTE ones. Do you have any pics or tech pics that show how it's installed and could anyone fit it ?

cheers

I have clear lights on the back now which blend in far better on a silver car.

The spoiler is fitted to the boot hinge like this

Not too difficult if you have experience of bonding but you would need to do it in a garage to keep it dry while it cures.

What made me buy my Aygo, was the fuel econemy, and the fact my uncle has one and recommended it. I didnt go for the Citreon or Pug coz there french cars and I really dont like Peugeot.

My family have always bought Toyota and we've never had any problems with them.

I'll let you off that comment given which forum this is and everone has their own opinion. They are fundementally the same cars as the Toyota or vice versa the only difference is Toyota give a better aftersales service but charge more for it. It all depends on what you like the look of really.

You dont have to let me off for anything? Ive had a peugeot 106... and had problems with it. Id rather drive a Toyota than a Pug, Dont get me wrong, yeah the cars are very simular, and your does look pretty cool. But at the end of the day I would choose a Jap car over a French...

IMO you are not buying a Jap car over a French etc. They are the same car. Built in the same factory with the same materials by the same people and machines (in the Czech Republic).

Styling and brand are the differences, reliability etc. are the same.

You beat me to it SMW.

My point was they are made by the same people in the same factory using the same parts from the same suppliers so your Aygo should be no more or less reliable than its French cousins.

The only reason i bought it was because i have far more trust in an engine designed by the Japanese.

I understand how one cars bad experiences can translate to a dislike for the brand as a whole, pity though considering the great cars the French have made in the past. Though still tempremental!

Yeah, i see both of your points, but its just a style n personal preference, Toyota apeals to me more, I was told the cars were manufactured in china?

They are all nice. 109co2

Somebody on here mentioned China, I would not have touched this car if I knew it was made in China, its a human rights issue. It's Czech.

Also have recieved good service from my local Peugeot agent (think they like them too), car serviced next day, ready and freshened up within two hours.

Can appreciate design though too, the huge high mounted rear lights, the neat shutlines on the five doors with the rear lights, the interior is nice too in a fuctional 1986 Citroen AX way, orange glow interior, the thin comfy seats. BTW first thing I drove was a yellow Hi Lux with column shift.

i like both peugot 107 and the aygo i just prefer the aygo as it looks better with the side bulging at the rear and i really like that butt  ! The headlights did their part too!

can you post a pic of that spoiler with the hatch closed and close up like the oyherone please?

i went to the peugeot local dealer for the spoiler and he told me he want the chassis number! he quoted the spoiler at 95 quid! but never told ne how much the tachometer would cost as he said he needed the chassis number to check how much it cost cos they dont have it in stock Bast**ds :ffs: :censor: :censor: :censor:

of course it will fit the Aygo ! its the original peugeot spoiler so you should find it from the local peugeot dealer if they are not a** h**es like the local one and ask you for the chassis number !

I bought mine because...

It's a TOYOTA

It's pretty (the prettier from the three in my point of view)

Fuel economy and price!

:D

I bought mine because I actually found out that it would be cheaper to run than my ten year old Rover 216Si, that was 10 years old, had 165000 miles on the clock and needed £700 spending on it just to get it though the MOT (more than the car was worth); and that is taking into consideration the payments on the finance for the car as well as the fuel, servicing and insurance costs.

Based on 20,000 miles per year, the Rover was going to cost 26p a mile, while the Aygo will cost 19p per mile. In addition I get piece of mind knowing that I have a car that I know will get me to and from work and that if anything does go wrong, it is under warranty.

Although I would like to add that the famous Top Gear Aygo Football item was another factor that encouraged me to buy the car

This days I drive on the motorway at or below the legal speed limit and think about drivers in their BMWs overtaking me at high speed and I wonder how much they are paying through the nose for a fashion statement just to get from A to B, in addition to the amount of extra fuel tax they are paying to Mr Brown; especially when I catch them up in the tailback a few miles down the road.

i Chose the aygo over other afforable cars (excpet the 107, C1 cos its the same) is that the noise of the engine sounds far better than a any and also the tachnometer won me over from the others. The front end of the aygo won me over the 107 and c1 becasue its different cos the front of the 107 and c1 looks simular and i wont some thing different. Like the spoiler :)
