Avensis 1999 2.0 Wagon

Hello there

I just recently bought avensis 1999 2.0 wagon. When I shift gears say from 2nd to 3rd the revs stay around 3000 rpm and then fall down really slowly. So when I change the gear and release the clutch it sometimes happe that the revs are still over 2000 rpm so that the gear changing is not smoothe. The car would "jump" a little.

So if anyone has a clue why this is happening please let me know: Cheers

Hello

Congratulations on the purchase

Not too sure about your problem but i remember reading something on hear not too long back about the clutch releasing before you fully release the clutch pedal which causes the minor jump/jolt? I think they said it was normal... It just takes practice to get use to it..

Regards Mike.

I too recently purchased a 98 2.0 Sol and I'm having the same problem.

Do you find that the problem is worse when cold?. I don't think it's normal.

I'm getting someone to look at it in a couple of weeks, if I get the problem resolved I'll let you know.

Likewise, if you find a fix please post it here.

All the best.........
