Hi.

Can anyone tell me what is the legal limit to car window tints? I mean, how dark can one get them done?

You can have as dark as you like from the B-Pillar back..( rear windscreen and rear door windows) but you can't do anything to your front door windows or windscreen.

Hi,

Check out this site: http://www.pentagonglasstech.com/news_legal_update.asp

Obviously, some window tinters are not bothered about following the law regarding the front window legislation but Pentagon are very strict about it.

I had the Light Smoke SupaGlass tints added to my Verso when it was new and they did a fantastic job. The security film is actually heat bonded to the glass and they claim it takes over a minute of smashing the glass with a hammer before you can break into the car.

Fortunately, I have not had occasion to test that.

B pillar back, any darkness, but i think front can't do much as the front factory tints brings it close to limit already. i went for smoke at b-pillar and behind, fronts light smoke, as felt looks better esp if u tint back and not front, although it is illegal, but as q big car front window tints dont look too dark, hopefully not attract too much attention from the old bill.

So anything forward of the B pillar is now banned completely? Or are you still allowed a very light tint?

yup, but light tint might not attract too much attetion from the police.
