Bucket Seat- Sliders

Allright peeps,

I just bought a couple of buckets for my yaris,

one of them I ll install at the drivers position, the other one I am selling.

I ve got some issues with the rail/slider mechanism.

The seat I am installing,is a Bride one, with an FO Bride slider already attached to it.

Do you think its going to fit into the stock position?I got some measurings but I am not sure.

If that doesnt do the job, is there any sliders/rails available that will fit without any further modifications?

Any help available will be highly appreciated.

Sparco do supply frames that they say will fit the yaris straight off .. they wont. You need to get some custom made Im afriad

Interesting, have you tried them then? I bought some a while back and will be fitting soon, how bad are they then? Do they not line up at all?

Also what did you do about the airbag plugs clarky?

EDIT: Read a few old posts, looks like its gonna take a lot of work!

It might be that the "yaris" subframes fit the french-built ones and not the japanese ones...

Strange, but possibly true

Dont think so - I think its more likely that the sparcos not actually tried a set. Ive found a number of 'aftermarket' parts that simply havent been tested before - consequently they either fit in theory but not in practice or physically havent been made ... c-one are another point in case. They say all their yaris parts fit the whole range, but they dont!

Ahh ok, would I need the airbag cancellers if I intend to use the existing seatbelt and seatbelt connecter?

I know theres a cable coming from under the carpet, does it actually go to the seat or seatbelt connector?? (Sorry not at home to check myself!)

Most seats come with sliders mate, you only need airbag cancellers if you have airbags - far as I know only t-sports do?

Yeah got the sliders, could swear I saw something hanging down from the seat when I looked! I know theres a label tag on each seat that says SRS? Phase2 thing maybe? Hmm shall have a look when I go home in 2weeks.

Cheers.

no probs mate, it seems it is a "hot" topic for many of us.

When it stops raining, I ll go out and check if the Bride slider works with or without any modifications.

Thanx for all your answers lads.I ll keep you informed.

They're modified Subaru Impreza RA frames (although I assume they're all the same basically anyway). Hope they help a bit

I found it the easiest thing to do. It took about 3 hours for the guy I know to do them. Only problem I have with the seats are that the side rubs up against the console where the handbrake is, and it's scratched the plastic badly (you can't see it though because the seat is covering it.) It will be easy to replace when I come to sell the car anyway.
