Rear Screen Washer - Does Wiper Move?

When I twist up on the stick thingy to activate rear screen washer, the blade doesn't move. Is this normal?

The wiper works fine when I twist it to the 'on' position and/or further down to 'on-plus-squirt-water', but every other car I've driven (and the front wipers on the Aygo) move the wiper blade a few times after washing the screen.

Can anyone confirm/deny whether my car needs a trip to the dealer?

Cheers,

Jon.

Manual Reads:

"To turn on the rear wiper, twist the lever know upward. (Position 1)

The key must be in the "ON" position.

To squirt washer fluid on the rear window, twist the know upward or downward as far as it will go (position 2 or 3). The knob automatically returns from these positions after you release it.

For instructions on adding washer fluid, see "Add wash fluid" on page 270 in Section 7-3.

NOTICE

Do not operate the rear wiper if the rear window is dry. It may scratch the glass."

There you go.

Thanks for that  , not been in a car yet, nice morning so cycled to the gym,and to work. Feel so smug. Did not have someone driving behind in it either, (laptop in panier).

Tell Mr Cameron that! And our CO2 footprints are less.

Okay, what I meant by 'up' is the opposite of what the handbook means... I meant twisting anticlockwise, so selecting the 'upwards' pic of 'squirt-water' as opposed to 'downwards' 'on >> squirt water plus on'

So that doesn't really answer it - it says "To squirt washer fluid on the rear window, twist the know upward or downward as far as it will go" but it doesn't say if turning downwards (my idea of 'up'!) will *also* activate a couple of wiper movements.

If not, then either I have to go twist-one-way-and-then-the-other, or else twist-past-on (and therefore operate wiper on dry glass) and then the squirter activates after a wipe or two (fine in the rain, not in the dry).

I guess if that's how it's supposed to be, then I can't do much about it, but it seems a bit silly to me (especially when the front wiper/washer works as expected).

Yes I know what you mean but I always use the squirter first then goto the on position for a few wipes. Should go automatically really. After a delay.
