I'm Part Exing My Smart For An Aygo

I've done it at last. I've ordered an Aygo + with air con & auto gear box. Had the Aygo been around 2 years ago when I bought my Smart ForTwo I would have got one. Today I was on works training and was finished sooner than expected. I could have gone home & sat in the garden but no, I went to the local Toyota dealer instead. I had a look at the Aygo and was most impressed by the quality - it was better than I expected it to be & the seats have a bit more padding than those in the Smart!

The salesman wanted to try sell me a new Yaris, I tried this and will say the seats are comfy & the big small thing is right, but with the speedo thing in the middle I felt as though I couldn't see over the steering wheel!

I couldn't test drive as there wasn't an auto version of the Aygo in stock but from the drive round with the sales man I know I like it. I feel like I'm swapping my budgie bike for a chopper (you need to be 30+ to know about those!)

I have about 7 weeks to go before I get it - it takes about that long to get a silver one. Had I wanted a red one I would have to wait till August! I am counting the days.

its was only a 2 week wait for the silver one when I bought mine but I got the carbon quartz which was a month.

Is the long wait because you are going for an automatic? I was just quoted 2 weeks for a silver Sport.

Love the fortwo too, but it just does n't feel worth it next to the aygoc1107 .

Had to wait six weeks for a yellow 5 door, though I also had other extras, but you are going to have to learn to park again :!Removed!:

I liked the look of the Aygo when it was launched last year but I'd only had my Smart a year at the time, but I decided to start saving up to do something about it! I've looked at the Peugeot 107 also, identical I know and the yellow is cool but the Peugeot dealer didn't seem to be too interested in the Smart. The salesman at the Toyota dealership can't have been anti Smart as he had a model one on his desk.

My silver sport took 10 days. I almost went for a Smart Brabus four two but settled for the Aygo in the end.

It looks like the arrival of my Aygo is imminent.

My dealer sent me the registration number details and says I should be receiving a quote from Toyota Insurance for the free insurance - I haven't received it yet so I will be chasing it up if there's nothing in the post on Monday morning.

We tested an Aygo to replace my smart. We found it cramped inside in comparison, as though they put 4 seats where 2 used to live. Also my smart was faster (it was a Brabus one) ..

We bought a Bigsmall Yaris instead (mini mike on the way)

Ooh good choice, I had a look in one when I took my Yaris in for a roadtest on Wednesday and I like the Aygo's even more - I'd have one as a second car if I had the ££'s
