17's Making Noise

Hi,

I've had my 17's on for about a year and they looked sweet:

(the scuffs arent that bad, its te camera ;) )

They had been fine until just recently where they started making a kind of grinding mixed with someone rattling a tin can sound whenever i turned sharply left.

I took them off (hoping a hunk of metal or rust would fall out) and gave em a wash. I put them back on and its made it worse! It now makes a slight noise when i turn right too.

Anyone got any ideas to what is causing it?

I have suffered the exact same problem , I have a set of 17s as well ! at first the mechanic thought it was the outter cv joint ! it actually turned out to be a build up of rust behind the brake discs , as a result i had to get some new discs ! If you know how to take ur brake disc out and clean it I would advise that ! B)

I'd take a guess at a wheel bearing because of the extra strain from the 17s, could also possibly be because the offset is slightly out.

Could be worth checking the CV joints aswell as no doubt they will go with bigger wheels on.

I had the same problem the other day.. i took the wheel off, cleaned the rust from the edge of the disc (disc getting replaced at next service) put the wheel back on.. sorted
