Compressor Kits And Chargers For T Sport

hi

Ive looked at getting a compressor kit or charger kit for my 2003 t sport.

so far seen blitz kit and the tte kit

was wondering if there are some cheap prices out there and where to go as they are quite costly ?

Also , could I fit it and is it easy or does a specialist have to do it.?

Does the ecu have to be re mapped or not.?

let me know people, cheers

I hvae heard but I dont think its true that if you disconnect the Battery and leave it for an hour the ecu erases the settings but when you re connect it and let the car idle it re sets it self??? could you do this after fitting the kit so as not to have to remap the ecu ??

let me know , anyone, if this is bull

Greddy do a supercharger kit which no one believes me about. £3500 fitted. The blitz one will not work on the UK car only Jap or Jap Import. TTE One is always a safe bet. And that thing with the ecu is b. Greddy one comes with Emanage.

Right ok i'm going to try to clear this up properly. The Blitz one WILL fit the UK car BUT i think may need an extra pulley as i believe it is missing one for the yaris? (this was on ozecho forums so may just have been they fitted a scion charger hence need for extra pulley but worth looking into) TTE is NOT your safe bet UNLESS you go other to TTE in germany and get them to map it as this is their kit so obviously they're experts in it! But yeah over in UK TTE and Blitz are equally as easy/hard to fit. The fitment is fine, its the remapping that is required to match this extra tuning that's a pain. You would be able to fit the charger kit itself if your a qualified mechanic but the remapping is a skilled job. This would require an aftermarket piggyback ECU (E-manage is the one of choice) to control the extra fueling required etc. If you wanted big boost you may be looking at uprating the fueling system (probably a safe bet anyway but deffo if running high boost) aswell as other engine internals/clutch etc if running larger boost/giving it welly. Also you would definately need uprated suspension and brakes just to be able to handle any extra horses you get without even pushing charger.

The ECU WILL reset itself if you disconnect the Battery for a while BUT this only resets it within its parameters! It will not be able to compensate for the supercharger and extra fueling needed as this is beyond its parameters. Therefore a piggyback ECU WOULD be needed for forced induction!

Hope that helps and if i have missed anything anyone feel free to correct/ammend!

Thanks ,

phew ! , well , I had an idea it would be a hassle doing it and the cost would be high.

Ive actually come up with a better idea which would be more cost effective ( more for people wanting a top of the range and fast yaris, obviously starting from scratch istead of an existing car)

Try and source on the internet for a T sport Turbo ( I thnik these are limited editions but only available in certain countries.) Try to get the best deal you can and then just pay for the import and registration once you get it.

It is basically the same as a t sport but will 16 alloys not the 15 s , the turbo , lsd , and modified suspension at the front, an extra 15mm lower that the tsport for the chassis , stronger clutch and leather seats instead of the fabric ones. I ve seen a few pictures on a couple of websites.

Compared to the tsport I think you would end up paying only a fraction more but the resale value would be much better than a modded car

Aprt from all that i think ill just do some simple modds to my tsport eg exsaust or air filter system and try to get a bit more from it but not ovewr do it or over do the costs.

Any good ideas ?

are welcome

Good luck trying to find one, you're not the first to come up with this idea! ;)

like finding a needle in a haystack then ?

Not as easy as it would seem to find. I know theres 1 here in Cyprus imported from Japan, but compared to the amount of Vitz that are imported here, the 1 is like a needle in a haystack

y not just buy a faster and better car?

For the same reasons you probably bought your yaris.

It looks good, it's cheap to run and is a break from the norm.

If it can be improved, then i say improve it!
