Induction Kits

I have taken my pipercross foam air filter off my GT, and put the old one stock one back. The car does seem to have lost a little bit of performance, i would say off the 1-4.5 k ( revs ) band .

I wasnt expecting this, i was thinking just the induction growl would go. My plan is too put a blitz air filter element , from fensport on it.

Do you reckon i will see any performance gains differant from the filtecone?, or would it be worth getting a heat cover fro the pipercross filter?... and save myself the £35 + vat charge for the filter element

Cheers

Rob

Personally i found my pipercross induction kit was making a lot of noise and not much else ! I swapped it for a TRD panel filter , which isn't as loud but feels a lot better/stronger through acceleration.

The induction kit gave me flat spots when the engine got warm - i think it sucks in more hot air than anything else even though i had put a cold air feed into it from the bottom of the bumper .

I think you'll find most peoples advice on here is get a good quality panel filter , i'm sure mikeb said the standard airfilter etc is good for 500bhp  (i'm sure someone said this !)
