Screeching Breaks

My breaks are drivng me nuts i fitted new discs and pads to my gt a few weeks ago great stopping power no problem .But when i break at low speeds like in traffic or comming to a stop they screech really badly its brutal does any one know how to stop this. :help::help::help:

I didnt use any copper but i did put back the shim plates . Would the lack of copper cause the noise?

it can help to stop the pads slipping in the calipers .sometimes the pads glaze ,due to heat , if you strip it down again , give the pads a light rub with a fine wet and dry to rub off any shiney black glazing , this hopefully with the shims and copperslip attatched should get rid of the squealing
