I'll be the first to admit, where I can rebuild a supra engine blindfolded using only my teeth, I cannot build websites for love nor money!!!!

My quiet little forums has got considerably quieter today, because its not working....

When ever I try to post, I get this error message

Could not insert new word matches

The PM system works, and the "preview post" facility works.... Any ideas????

It can't open the file. Does it exist?

It's doing an "insert" to your database and cant, so it falls over ..

Sounds like the database is balls'ed up as .MYI files are where mysql keeps the data.

Did you delete or change the permissions on any of these files? In linux they are usually in /var/lib/mysql

I have not changed anything at all mate, I leave what I don;t understand well alone!!!!

One of my moderators was editing a post and it all went wrong, but I doubt that has anything to do with it??????

Sounds like the database corrupted or some bar-steward hacked you - have you got a backup?

Have you got Shell access to your hosting? or phpmyadmin?

I do have phpmyadmin..

It doesn't let my open up the dmaged table to repair it though....

Can you select the database on phpmyadmin tho? If so..

Click on the sql tab....

There should hopefully be a form where you can enter a query...

paste this in and press the submit button... I assume the database name is correct - its from that forum link.

repair table nuke_bbsearch_wordmatch;

Then cross your fingers and pray it works!

Thanks Flat Pack who talked me through phpmyadmin over msn!!!

It was a damaged table, although the repair tool wouldn;t work directly so I had to "repair" one that was working already, and edit the target address thingy...

It worked on the second attempt!!!
