Am I Being Ripped Off?

My ST202 needs new shocks.

My Mechanic quoted me £55+VAT each. I need both my rear to be replaced. He’s also charging me £60 for labor. All rounds about £200 to have the back two shocks replaced. Am I being ripped off?

How much are they usually and for them to be fitted?

That`ll be about right. He`s got to change the springs over to the new shocks as well. Not a five minute job i`m afraid. ;) .

Edit - Just checked the Autodata info, They give nearly 3 hours to do both sides. So £60 labour is pretty good.

£60 labour is good - Go to toyota and it'll be £85 per hour or if you had a Lexus then nearer £110 per hour............ :help:

It doesn't take 3 hours tho, just done this as an assement at college, took me an hour a side and that was with a busted car which had dodgy nuts and bolts.

But normally it bout 20 quid an hour labour, but i suppose it doesn't help with you living in london.

Try car spares for the parts tho have quoted me 35 plus vat for mine as mine are completly knackerd :crybaby: gonne do em at the end of the month when get paid. Have you tried shopping about for better prices?

Good luck anywy getting you baby sorted
