Toyota Yaris Exhaust

Just wondering if anyone can help. My boyfriend has a 99 plate Yaris SR (1.3). His exhaust has been blowing for a couple of weeks but it has turned out to be the middle section that contains the cat. Toyota have quoted £615 for the part (which is about half the value of the car!). The exhaust system on the car is Janspeed. Anyone know if he can get this part cheaper anywhere??? Also been looking on internet and it seems he can get a Mongoose or Blue Flame full exhaust system with cat for less than this part. Are these any use or should he be sticking with repairing the old one?

Envy Performance Sports Cat and Mid Section is £350. Might need a backbox to match it as well thats another £250 ish. Mongoose is mince in my opinion not sure about blue flame.

I'd say envy mid section (with sports cat) - it should mate up to any yaris exhaust I beleive - give kevin a call to check.

Might be worth getting a couple of pics and sending kev them in advance - I know Seveer had some issues with his SR

The problem was it mating up to the backbox... it just bends a different way to the t-sport so you get a lower bend in it... just needs care over speed bumps, but it's a great piece of kit.

That's the low bend... not too bad, just speed bumps with people in the back can be tricky!

This is the unit itself:

Then the pipework:

Stick one of these on and your singing (very loudly!)

Then sing even louder!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. He has been having a bit of a scout around local places and, with a bit of bartering has managed to blag a Janspeed part for £225 which is the same as what's on it now. Hopefully it won't sound like the exhaust is about to drop off for much longer.

I'd be very wary of that...

The janspeed part as far as I know doesn't include the CAT. The CAT section is toyota only. The backbox might be janspeed or remus or TTE (same as remus) or sebring, but iv never heard of an after-market CAT section other than the Envy system. Unless that's a re-badged janspeed?? But i doubt it!
