Replacing Air Filter?

Afternoon everyone,

My Blitz Sonic power air filter has just arrived from Japan (eventually!), and im ready to install it (hopefully tomorrow if the weather holds up!) and just want to bounce a few thoughts off everyone first.

I would imagine its a fairly simple job, old airbox out, new one in and connect the the airflow meter back into the Blitz one.

But my only worry is that as the instructions are all in Japanese I dont want to make a pigs ear of it by missing something vital. Its just as simple as that isnt it?

If im missing anything please let me know!

Cheers for the advice!

Might not be that simple - there's a butterfly valve type thing on the old airbox, which won't be on your induction kit, so the vaccuum hoses have to altered slightly... If you go to the K&N website and download the instructions for the Typhoon induction kit you may be able to relate those to the Blitz one

you just need to plug the hole on the inlet manifold, that the vacumn hosing plugs into, and disconnect the wiring loom from the air box, it will be fine.

Thanks guys,

Will have to investigate further now!

I have the kit assembled (ready to go in the car) and the only parts left over were two screws to re-attach the airflow meter and one small plastic "bung/plug". I assume thats for plugging the hole on the intake manifold then, i wasnt sure what that was for before.

Anyhow i need to wait untill during the week anyway, untill insurance company gives me the go-ahead.

Cheers for the advice.

Well i got a recorded 199.9BHP with just the Typhoon kit, but I don't know what it was before on that particular dyno (I don't want people hitting back saying "oh, that's not a true reading" etc etc etc....)

As for the Unichip, I had it fitted, but it didn't function correctly with the car, so Dastek are still investgating why the chip they have for the 2ZZ-GE Celica engine deosn't work with the same-engined Corolla T Sport. I've been waiting since 11th March and have been on the phone weekly since.
