Well, I'd take the cat out of the engine bay for a start....

But seriously, it squeaks??

Car is still under warranty? I'd get it checked out, definitely shouldnt squeak from the engine bay (unless its the mouse the cat is chasing?)

I'll get me coat.... :lol::lol:

When does it squeek? I mean I'm not mechanic, but i think when it squeeks when you are pulling off or when you change gear (usually in low revs) its the Cam/alternator belt. Dont slate me, you mechanical people out there, if im rong! lol

It's not the wing mirror whistling is it? A few of us had a problem with them whistling like a mouse..more noticeable when the window is open too.

Yep ...... you can either take it back to Mr T where I belive that they place a bit of foam/felt behind the mirror

or you can DIY

There is a topic on here somewhere but Im sure somebody will be else will be along

I tried replacing my door mirror the other day - dead easy!

Just follow the guide for removing the door cards to upgrade the Speakers and you'll find 3 nuts holding the wing mirror on.

They might be lose or you might want to stick some foam in between the mirror and the car...

Just be careful taking the nuts off, I managed to drop one inside the door, and still haven't found it!

Whoa there tiger!

First of all, if a car is under warranty it sems daft not to let Mr T do any jobs where parts need removing.

Secondly, this is not one of those times where any parts need removing anyway! :P

If it is the door mirror whistling that's causing the noise then all it needs is the mirror folding flat on its hinge towards the door window then a piece of felt or whatever attaching to the part of the mirror casing that becomes exposed.

Move the mirror back to its normal position, thus hiding the felt and... job done.

This is a known probem with phase 2 Yaris mirrors and I'd recommend you still take it to Mr T to get it done as it will cost you nothing.

Al J, could you confirm that the wing mirrors fold flat on an SR P1 aswell? Just i tried before with mine and felt like they would break before folding! (It would have helped when i parked in garage but knowing now would still be useful!)

Well I know they did on my p1 1 litre colour collection (2002) as some :censor: :ffs: deliberately pushed the passenger mirror towards the window and then pressed hard against it! It bent the mount slightly but says a lot for the strength of the design. The driver's door mirror was similarly tested by someone hitting it with their door mirror when I was stationary in traffic. It just closed in and I pushed it back and carried on.

I can't speak for the other models though I'm sure people will chip in. It's possible they were fixed on earlier models? It may also be it's just dirt in between the mount and the mirror housing.

Mirror whistling is a known problem but Mr T has an "Approved service bulletin fix" for it so get along and see him.

I had mine done under warranty
