Only problem is it's not mine :( .

'tis the young ladies new car.

96 N-reg Facelift UK ST205, in Silver, 65,000 miles on the clock with only 2 owners since new. First owner took it up to 52,000 with FTSH and the last owner had it for the past 4 years taking it up 65,000 and self servicing, plus fitting of exhaust, clutch and Cam belt replacement. Also been kept of road in winter.

With Mongoose exhaust, pannel filter, fensport paddle clutch and 17" alloys. Other than that it's toyota standard.

Oh yea and Gen7 seats

Only got the pics from the advert at the mo, what you all think.

I'm sure she'll be dropping by at some point to say hello.

How much was it mate?

Whats the difference between the face lift 4 and the earlier one????

£4100

Forgot to mention also had SuperStrut bits replaced.

Facelift changes:

Spoiler changed to 3 strut one

Increased sound deadening (apparently loads of people had been moaning about the noise levels, can't say I ever noticed it in mine but then I like the sound of the engine/turbo :D )

Swapped round light and wiper control stalks

Heard somwhere that it had a different interior trim but looks the same to me.

Newer 6 spoke alloys

Side skirts became standard instead of option

Think that was about it, the later JDM ones also got the different rear light clusters and projector headlamps but not the UK cars coz they stopped selling GT4's in the UK before the lights where changed.

I was just wondering about the facelift myself.

I can see it has the 3 leg spoiler and the bonnet spoiler, but the bumper on a GT4 isn't the same as the GT/ST so I wasn't sure if that was different or if they were lazy and left the old GT4 Bumper on???

Any other noticeable differences??

Were the indicators like those on the Hondas ie the wrong way round???? or do you just mean the wiper fuction was swapped with the light control.

I think they increased the sound proofing in the cabin by removing it from the wheel arches!

Also what does that spoiler do on the Bonnet! I noticed it about two weeks ago but thought it was a vent/air scoop for the engine!

Swapped the Light control stalk to the left hand side and the wiper to the right hand side as on most other cars. Used to really bug me when got in other cars coz i'd kept putting the wipers on instead of the indicators.

The bonnet spoiler was on all none JDM cars, the WRC editions and the later JDM cars. It's to stop bonnet flex at high speed i.e. above 120 when the bonnet starts waving about like a pole dancer if not fitted apparently.

Looks a very nice motor mate

Bonnet spolier was on pre and post facelift UK cars only pre facelift JDM cars didn't have it although I think it might have been an optional extra.

Bumper is the same

I thought it was a bit cheap when I touched it and was worried abbout it falling off at high speed! Like the look of it but then again I like the light washers so what would I know!

Don't worry it won't go anywhere, it's securly bolted to the bonnet at both ends and in the middle  If it's a really one anyway.

Funnily enough I quite like the headlight washers too  Used to use them for spraying children when they got to close... :D

I think it looks smart :) only points are... need the wrc spoiler  and the seats, as much as they look great! you will find they dont grip you very well, when you go round a corner fast you slide off it :( I guess its just cuz gen 7's are slow and dont need bucket seats

That is a great looking car, and an absolute bargain for the price. A bit miffed by the paddle clutch on an otherwise standard car though. And the gen 7 seats are a step backwards IMO.

Gotta say I do agree with the WRC spolier bit Adam but its the misses car and she prefers the lower wing so doesn't look that that's going anywhere. :(

As for the Gen 7 seats again the misses perfers them, I've not quite made my mind up yet

Paddle clutch is the fensport ceremettalic one, previous owner put it in by his choice. It does feel alot sharper than the stock clutch and better for launches etc so personnal feeling choice rather than to do with mods etc I think.

I don't like the WRC spoiler either!

You might have to keep an eye on that clutch, non-organic ones are not designed for slipping (i.e normal launches), and they tend to wear really fast if you use them like a traditional clutch.

True, but then we both learnt how to drive properly instead of riding the clutch all the time like everyone seems to do these days.

I didn't mean riding the clutch, I meant letting it out gently like you do in a normal start. Non organic clutches don't even like that - they are designed for race applications where you sidestep the clutch at 4000 rpm. ;)
